I think using the Blurr tool will add a very nice atmosphere to the image. I like my ideas to be simple, so then i can develop it into something more interesting that will get me a higher grade. Also to make it better than my original idea.
Making the single flower the main focus of the piece will show the detail using David Hockney's work to help with my ideas |
Proposal
For my mock exam i have chosen to look at Detail with looking at the different patterns in Nature. I have decided that i would like to study Nature with the artist; Jo Whaley. I decided to study her work because it looked like an interesting piece of work to study for my mock. She always makes her work seem quiet and calm when she uses insects in her work.
I really like focusing on the detail in other peoples work, so i can compare two different ones and combine them both together. I will use photo-shop to edit and put together ideas and sections that i think would go together. I will test out the shutter speed, ISO and the different apertures to see what works best.

critical Analysis about Jo Whaley (frist photographer)
She was born in 1953, Sacramento . She has infused her images with theater. Her detailed, colour photography combines the sensuality of painting with the veracity of the camera, and creates elaborate photographic tableaux about the nature of the imagination. Her work is in several major collections in this country. Jo Whaley is originally studied to become a painter. She had a lifelong root in the San Francisco Bay Area, having earned advanced degrees in Art and Photography from the University of California, Berkeley by 1980. All of her photographic series fuse the language of photography with the language of painting and rely on an expressive use of colour. Working in discrete series, the subject matter of her photographs over the last 25 years have ranged from allegorical nudes, to a revision of the Vanitas still life tradition, to a fusion of natural history and environmental issues in the the Theater of Insects portfolio. Her detailed, color photography combines the sensuality of painting with the veracity of the camera, and creates elaborate photographic tableaux about the nature of the imagination. |

Critical Analysis
I have tried to incorporate some of Jo Whaley's work into my work. I do really like some of the photos, because of the detail on them. I liked the way I focused in on the leaves on the tree, as it has a lot of texture on it.

Three best photo's
I have chosen for these three photos because all of them have different things happening in the background.
7.10.17 photo-shoot
In the photo shoot i have really focused on the same shape and type of leaf,
17.10.17 Photoshoot
For this photoshoot i have added a mirror to reflect on the flowers and pine-cones. I have decided to do it this way so that my work is not the same all the time.
25.10.17 Photoshoot
These photos were taken by myself, on a family day out in the woods outside of Bristol. I decided to take some photographs close up and some wide shot so that there are different aspects of my work. i did this because there is always detail everywhere you look.
Some of my best images.
critical Analysis
I like these photos the best because they stand out more and i think the colours work very well. I chose the first one because i have never seen a tree like that and its different, the second one shows a lot of detail within itself and i also think that it is very different to other types of flowers, which makes it stand out and it looks pretty. The third and fourth one are very similar to each other and i find the spirals very interesting, i think that these spirals are quiet rare as i do not remember seeing them before.

21.10.17 Photoshoot
These photos were taken at Bath Park. I have started gathering different shapes, colours and sizes of flowers and leaves. I really like the middle section of the flowers and leaves. I have also added some of the ducks into this photo shoot because I think that there needed to be some living creatures, as the ducks has a lot of detail in them.

9.10.17 Photo-Shoot (starting to look at some ideas)
Critical Analysis.
In this shoot I have decided to do really close zoom ins on the middle section of the plant/flowers. I find the detail in these very interesting in the way it looks. I have picked out different shapes and designs in these pictures, as it gives me a more variety of detail in Jo Whaley's work.

7.11.17 photo-shoot
In my opinion, this is probably the best photo-shoot I have done throughout this mock exam, so far. I have tried hard to get rid of the burliness to get them the ways i want them to be. My favorite set of photos would have to be the red rose with a rusty looking background because i was experimenting different ways to make it better and i am very pleased how they came out. The lightning was very good with the 0 of the flowers, it has particularly made the reds and yellows stand out more in the images
Best photo's from photo shoot:
I really liked the way these photos came out, i think the lighting is fantastic and the camera setting that it was on.
ISO: 100-200
F/5.6
1/125
I also found the lighting very helpful in this shoot to get this result.

All of these pictures are from the same flowers. The only difference about these images is that i have decided to look slightly at the different angles. I think that all of these photos look good.
